Too many Fund My Neighbourhood applications submitted across the Wright electorate were rejected. We need better facilities, infrastructure, and services, such as solar panels at local sports centres to alleviate high electricity prices, safer school pedestrian crossings, and better preventative resources for youth at risk.
My name is Natasha Henningsen and I’m the SA-BEST candidate for Wright in the State election to be held on March 17.
I’m standing to give you a real choice over Labor and Liberal. South Australians have had an awful choice of a government that deserves to lose, and an opposition that doesn’t deserve to win. As part of the SA-BEST team, with Nick Xenophon, I want to deliver real change you can trust. You deserve better on power prices, health, education, substance abuse, and jobs, to name but a few.
I’m down to earth and in touch with what matters. I grew up in Ingle Farm and Modbury Heights in a working-class family. My father was a mechanic and my mother a dressmaker. I gained a life-long interest in politics from my grandfather. This upbringing shaped my strong sense of social justice and a desire to participate in the political process to ensure social and economic change to all people from all walks of life.
After running my own business in Rundle Street in the 1990’s, I completed a Degree in Political Science and then travelled widely before spending five years working on the Dubai Healthcare City project. This has given me a strong understanding of high-level planning with healthcare – something that SA’s Health system desperately needs.
I’ve previously worked in the public sector in health and I’ve seen, first-hand, bad decisions and waste – with decent public servants being too scared to speak out for fear of losing their jobs. That’s why SA-BEST’s plan to protect whistle-blowers will make a big difference to get a better health system.
I’ve got real life experience to be a strong, grass-roots representative for your concerns. Combined with a Master’s degree in Public Administration (Public Policy) that I received in 2015, I’d like to use that knowledge to represent your fearlessly and effectively.
I value honesty, fairness, justice, and hard work, along with a belief that our political system needs a serious shake-up. There is a better way than Labor or Liberal. With your support, SA-BEST can break the Labor/Liberal duopoly and deliver solutions from the sensible centre of politics.
I hope you can join me in making Wright, and SA, the best it can be! You can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the campaign office on (08) 8545 0400.
P.S. If you would like to get involved in the campaign as a volunteer that would be great. Call or email me, or contact the SA-BEST campaign office on (08) 8545 0400.

My Focus for Wright
Improved local facilities and services
Wright and neighbouring electorates need Modbury Hospital to be fully operational and delivering acute and critical care services. ‘Transforming Health’ has been a disaster for the north-eastern suburbs. I would use my experience in medical administration to establish an urgent timeframe for this to happen without the cost blowouts and ongoing failures under Labor.
Education and learning
We need a school system that is fit for purpose, flexible, and fair. I will fight to support our teachers with skill development programs and ensure Commonwealth and State education funding and resources are allocated fairly and equitably by removing the centralized bureaucracy and ‘one-size-fits-all’ policies that are failing our schools and our students.
The ‘ice’ epidemic is a serious issue that deserves urgent outcomes. Well-funded rehabilitation programs (including mandatory rehabilitation in certain circumstances) are required to prevent permanent disability from the effects of addiction. We also need a culture change to minimise addiction in the first place.
Energy prices & cost of living
Electricity prices in SA are amongst the highest in the world. SA-BEST’s energy plan is all about getting prices down with more reliable supply and greater competition.
