Tracy is the SA-BEST candidate for the seat of MacKillop. She believes in “local solutions for local problems” and building resilience in rural communities.
Tracy was raised by farming parents with teenage years spent working on their dairy farm. She has lived in in Meningie for 43 years with her family. Currently Tracy runs a seafood processing business with fisherman husband Glen, however over her career she has worked in banking, aged care administration, and for local government.
She has been heavily involved as an advocate for the commercial seafood industry and has spent over two decades on multiple management committees and boards including Southern Fishermen’s Association, Wildcatch Fisheries SA and Chair of the South Australian Women’s Industry Network.
Tracy also spent several years on a Coorong Council subcommittee working through multiple issues and positive outcomes for the local community during the millennium drought. Recently she has been active as a River Ambassador campaigning for a healthy Murray Darling Basin on behalf of all South Australians.
Frustrated with the region beyond the Metropolitan area being largely ignored, and confident of the practical approach to issues that the people have in regional and rural areas, Tracy believes she can work with the people of MacKillop to implement change and advocate on issues that are important to the region.
