Joe is the SA-BEST candidate for the seat of Finniss. He is looking forward to creating greater opportunities for communities across the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Joe spent 12 years working for Alexandrina Council where he held management roles in Human Resources and later, Governance and Strategy. During his time with the Council, he valued the opportunity to consult the community on key strategic regional projects such as the Fleurieu Aquatic Centre.
Following his time with Council, Joe spent three years working for an Adelaide based international development company which delivered Australian Aid programs to developing countries in the Asia Pacific region. Programs Joe contributed to included an education program supporting girls in Laos and a neonatal health program in eastern Indonesia.
More recently Joe has been working as the Manager of Constituent Services for Nick Xenophon Team Senator Stirling Griff. Through this role, Joe enjoys the opportunity to work with constituents from right across SA, including the Fleurieu Peninsula, to facilitate positive outcomes. Joe also assists Senator Griff with his work on the Parliamentary Joint Standing Committee on the NBN.
Joe has completed a Bachelor of Government and Public Management at Flinders University and a postgraduate qualification in Journalism at UniSA. Joe also studied at Victor Harbor TAFE where he completed a Certificate IV in Financial Services. During his time as a student at Flinders, Joe was selected to participate in an internship program where he spent two months working in the Washington DC office of United States Senator Ron Wyden.
Joe is a life member of the Langhorne Creek Football club having played over 300 games in the Great Southern Football League. Over the years Joe has valued the strong friendships that have been forged with players and supporters from GSFL clubs right across the Fleurieu.
Joe considers the revival of the Finniss Cricket Club as one of his proudest achievements. The Finniss Cricket Club was founded in 1920 but spent 12 years in recession before Joe and a group of enthusiastic locals breathed life back into the club. Joe served 10 years as club president during which time the Finniss Oval and adjoining facilities have been transformed and are now the hub of the revived Finniss township.
His focus now is to give the entire Finniss electorate a breath of fresh air.
