James is the SA-Best candidate for the seat of Morialta, a place he is delighted to call home and a region he is eager to represent in state parliament.
As a qualified and experienced teacher and digital learning consultant, he feels strongly that education has been harmed through ideological meddling for too long. The many challenges ahead for education need to be focussed on evidence based solutions and not petty partisan politics.
James graduated from UniSA as a secondary school teacher, taking after his mum who taught at Birdwood High School for many years, rising to lead a faculty department within a year of appointment. Several years later, James moved into the further education sector lecturing both vocational and academic courses in media production and film studies. Soon after he worked as a successful broadcast journalist working in politics and sport. For one year he was the official tweeter for ESPN’s rugby coverage!
Most recently, James has worked as a digital learning consultant for Allianz, Torrens University, Westpac and for a Mount Torrens online learning start-up, The Inventorium. He lives in Uraidla (in the electorate of Morialta) with his wife and two year old daughter.
Morialta has a raft of challenges ahead from the questionable healthcare provision impacting suburbs such as Rostrevor, Highbury and Athelstone to the concerns of mobile phone coverage, especially now during bushfire season, in areas such as Cudlee Creek, Forest Range and Basket Range.
James will listen and work hard to deliver the best for the residents of Morialta.
