Andrew is the SA-BEST candidate for the seat of Kavel, in the Adelaide Hills. He is a tireless worker within the local community, and is keen to represent his people.
In 1989, Andrew, along with his late wife, Robyn, and their 3 young daughters, packed up their belongings and made the move from their country home at Millicent, in the South-East, to the hills township of Woodside. There, Andrew and Robyn purchased the local newsagency and quickly settled into the local community. Their daughters all attended the local pre-school, primary school and then went on to Oakbank Area School. In following the interests of their children, Andrew became involved with the Onkaparinga Swimming Club, the Woodside Netball Club and the Mount Pleasant Pony Club.
Andrew has strong links to the local community. He was a board member at Mt Barker GP Care and at Adelaide Hills Regional Development, and was a chairperson for the Adelaide Hills Road Safety Group. He has contributed to many fundraising events across the district through sponsorships from his business activities and has donated his time and skills as a well-known MC to many country events.
As a local business person, Andrew was also very active with the Woodside Commerce Association and a regular volunteer for the annual Christmas Parade. He was elected as a ward councillor on the Adelaide Hills Council in 2003, and is a current sitting member of the Adelaide Hills Council.
He is currently the sales manager for Freedom Pools South Australia, the chairperson of the Adelaide Hills Swimming Centre, and is still involved with many sporting and community associations.
